Fort Bragg gyms will reopen to active-duty service members and first responders Wednesday after being closed since March 24 because of the coronavirus pandemic, officials said Tuesday.

Gyms with adjusted hours from 5 a.m. to 1 p.m. weekdays and closed on weekends include Blackjack, Callahan, Dahl, Frederick, Funk, Hercules, Hosking, Iron Mike, Patriot Point, Ryder, Tucker and Warfighter.

Ritz-Epps will be open from 5 a.m. to 8 p.m. weekdays and 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. weekends.

Towle Courts will remain closed.

All patrons will be screened prior to entering, and there will be a 100% identification card check.

“There is a limited capacity in each of the fitness centers in order to maintain social distancing,” officials said. “Capacity varies and is posted at each fitness center.”

Patrons will be required to wear face coverings when social distancing is not possible.

Gym bags will not be allowed inside.

Officials said only individual workouts will be allowed, with no classes of group workouts allowed.

Cardio rooms will remain closed along with locker rooms, showers, basketball courts, racquetball courts, saunas, juice bars, water fountains and massage therapy.

As of Tuesday, gyms in the communities near Fort Bragg remained closed, in accordance with North Carolina’s Phase 2 reopening plan.
