ARE OUT AND ABOUT BLEEP THIS YEAR WE HAVE TO THINK ABOUT THE HOLIDAYS A LITTLE BIT. ONE OF THE THINGS PEOPLE WANT TO DO IS MAKE SURE AS THEY ARE OUT AND ABOUT DOING THE HOLIDAY SHOPPING ARE GOING TO HOLIDAY GATHERING, THEY ARE DOING IT IN A WAY THAT THEY ARE STAYING SAFE AND MAKING SURE THEY KEEP IN MIND WAYS TO BE ABLE TO AVOID OR LIMIT THEIR EXPOSURE. SHOPPING IS GOING TO BE A VERY DIFFERENT THIS YEAR. FIRST THING, IF YOU CAN AVOID SHOPPING. OR DO SOCIAL MEDIA OR SHOP ONLINE. THAT IS THE PREFERABLE WAY TO DO IT. IF YOU WANT TO GO OUT, AND THAT THE PEOPLE WANT TO GET OUT. MAKE SURE YOU GO TO AREAS THAT ARE VENTILATED THEY HAVE OPEN DOORS VERY GOOD VENTILATION SYSTEM. THAT IS IMPORTANT. GO EARLY IN THE MORNING. LATER IN THE EVENING. THAT YOU CAN LIMIT THE NUMBER OF PEOPLE WHO ARE ACTUALLY GOING TO BE THERE AT THAT TIME. THE OTHER THING IS TO PLAN AHEAD. KNOW WHAT YOU'RE GOING TO BUY. HAVE AN IDEA SO YOU LIMIT THE AMOUNT OF TIME YOU ACTUALLY BE THERE. WHEN IT COMES TO FOOD PREPARATION. ONE OF THE THINGS YOU MAY WANT TO CONSIDER MAY WANT TO HAVE JUST ONE SERVER INSTEAD OF MULTIPLE PEOPLE HAVING THE FORKS AND SERVING TRAYS. THERE HAS NOT BEEN MUCH DATA AS IT RELATES TO CONTACT EXPOSURE. WE KNOW THAT IS NOT THE MAIN WAY. THAT COULD BE A WAY TO SPREAD THE INFECTION. THE OTHER THING IS TO SANITIZE THE AREA. AS OFTEN AS POSSIBLE. WHATEVER AREAS, ESPECIALLY AREAS BEING TOUCHED BY A LOT OF PEOPLE. MAKE SURE THEY ARE BEING SANITIZED QUICKLY. WE STILL CAN'T DISCOUNT THE EFFECTIVENESS OF WEARING MASKS. EVEN IF IT IS PEOPLE WE KNOW. WE HAVE SEEN IT IS A SMALL GATHERINGS, THE FAMILIAR PEOPLE THAT WE GET WITH. WHERE PEOPLE BEGIN TO LET DOWN THEIR GUARD. ALL IT TAKES IS FOR ONE PERSON TO BE THAT CARRIER. AND THEN IF THEY ARE INFECTED THEY CAN AFFECT EVERYONE ELSE. SOMETHING IMPORTANT TO REMEMBER , AS YOU ARE GETTING INTO THE HOLIDAYS. AS MUCH AS YOU CAN TRY TO MAKE SOME SOCIAL INTERACTION. USE OF VIRTUAL MEETINGS. IN MY FAMILY WHAT ARE THINGS WE ARE DOING WILL PLAY A MYSTERY GAME GAME ON THANKSGIVING. WE WILL BE COOKING TOGETHER VIRTUALLY. SO WE CAN STILL BE WITH EACH OTHER. ENJOY SPENDING TIME WITH EACH OTHER. EVEN THOUGH WE ARE DOING IT IN A VIRTUAL MEETING. WHETHER IT IS VIRTUAL OR BY PHONE. I'm meteorologist, Amy Wilmeth in the WRL severe weather center. The weather pretty quiet today, we have some clouds around. We'll get up to around 90 this afternoon. So it's still hot outside today and then late this evening and especially overnight tonight, rain chances start to go up. We're watching a disturbance over Arkansas back down into Louisiana and Texas that's headed in our direction and it brings some unsettled weather for the upcoming weekend. And as early as tonight, we could start seeing some of those showers. So here's a look at Future cast seven o'clock tonight. I'd expect most of us to stay dry. I wouldn't rule out an isolated Sprinkle or two by 7 a.m. Saturday morning. A couple of hit and miss showers will be possible, but it's not widespread rain. Really hoping things stay dry for a race for the cure. And I know we have a lot of graduations in the morning. So hopefully it stays dry through the morning hours as we get into the afternoon, we'll have some hit and miss hours and some thunderstorms and that will continue into the evening on Saturday as well. Sunday morning at 6 a.m. looks mainly dry, but as we head into lunchtime and into the afternoon and evening hit and miss showers and storms will be possible. Again, look at how much we could get anywhere from around a quarter of an inch to three quarters of an inch. And that takes us through the next seven days. And some of this rain is likely going to linger into early next week, hour by hour, rain chances for tomorrow in the morning, it looks mainly dry. We have better opportunity for some of those scattered showers and storms in the afternoon and evening hours. So just keep the umbrella with you as you're headed out and about Saturday and Sunday as well. A lot of graduation. Saturday morning, we have NC State NC Central Saint Augustine's all have graduations in the morning. It's about a 20% chance for rain. After graduation, there might be some showers. You might have to dodge some of those showers and storms while you're getting your pictures taken on Saturday for those commencement ceremonies. So 90 today, we have race for the Cure Saturday morning hoping it stays dry just a slim chance for in the morning and then scattered storms will be possible. Sunday as well. Monday and Tuesday, it's going to get hot again next week with high temperatures back in the low to mid nineties on Wednesday and Thursday.
