PINEHURST, N.C. — Doctors, nurses and staff lined the halls at FirstHealth of the Carolinas on Friday to surprise and celebrate a woman's survival after coronavirus.

Shelia Watson, of Hamlet, NC, spent more than two months in the hospital, with weeks on a ventilator.

She was admitted to Moore Regional Hospital in Richmond on April 15 and spent time at Moore Regional Hospital in Pinehurst and then in an inpatient rehabilitation unit before Friday's discharge.

She waved and said, "Love you all," as she was wheeled to the exit.

Watson's family arrived to take her home and to participate in the celebration. She burst into tears when she saw them and more hospital staff arrayed outside the door.
