CLAYTON, N.C. — Five employees of the Clayton Fire Department are staying at home after testing positive for COVID-19, town spokeswoman Stacy Beard said on Wednesday.

"The employees are doing well, and we expect a full recovery for everyone," Beard wrote in an email to WRAL News.

The town is tracing contacts for those who might have been exposed to the virus and has deep cleaned both fire stations. All employees who worked with those who tested positive will also be tested for COVID-19.
