DURHAM, N.C. — Copper coils from five HVAC units were stolen from a Durham shopping center overnight Sunday police said.

Police said thieves climbed on the roof of the building at 3400 Westgate Drive, which houses Infuzion dance and martial arts studio.

“It is kind of like being hit when you are down, so to speak, because with the economy the way it is already, all businesses are suffering and just trying to scrape by,” Infuzion owner Miriam Catron said.

Without the units, clients are staying warm with space heaters.

Catron said the robbery caused $100,000 in damage.
