Cooper elected chair of the Democratic Governors Association
In a tweet Saturday, The Democratic Governors Association announced that North Carolina Governor Roy Cooper has been elected to serve as the chair of the organization in 2022.

RALEIGH, N.C. — In a tweet Saturday, the Democratic Governors Association announced that North Carolina Gov. Roy Cooper has been elected to serve as the chair of the organization in 2022.
Cooper will be joined by New Jersey Gov. Phil Murphy, who will serve as vice chair.
Cooper and Murphy were both elected by their fellow Democratic governors across the country.
The DGA is a political organization that supports Democratic governors as well as Democratic candidates.
Cooper currently serves as vice chair of the DGA under New Mexico Governor Michelle Lujan Grisham.
