RALEIGH, N.C. — Wednesday night will be wet before clearing early Thursday morning, WRAL meteorologist Mike Maze said.

Showers will fall until about 4 a.m. Thursday, followed by cloudy skies.

Thursday morning will be overcast for the commute, and isolated showers and storms are possible during the afternoon.

There's a low-pressure system to our south and a cold front to the northwest.

That front will push in cooler, dry air for Thursday night, which will make temperatures lower than normal for the next few days.

But that also means pleasant weather: Friday is expected to be sunny with a high of 78 degrees.

“It’ll be a nice day to be fishing, maybe golfing, maybe spending the day with the kids at the playground,” Maze said.

Saturday and Sunday will be warmer, with highs in the mid 80s. A chance for storms will move in again by Sunday.
