The Contemporary Art Museum, which opened earlier this year in downtown Raleigh, is launching a new series for families starting this month.

The Family Sunday series will feature events every other month with family-friendly tours of exhibits, hands-on activities and other fun.

The first event is 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. this Sunday. "Howl-O-Ween" will include a pet costume contest in the courtyard, furry friend mask making in the street gallery, exhibition exploration and more.

Other upcoming Family Sundays include "It's Ornamental" on Dec. 11; "CAM You Be Mine?" on Feb. 12; and "Spring Fling" on April 15.

All Family Sunday activities are free with paid admission. Children under 10; museum members; N.C. State faculty, staff and students; and members of the military get in for free. General admission is $5.

The museum, at 409 W Martin St., is open every day but Tuesday.
