A recall has been issued for a Build-A-Bear stuffed toy.

According to the Consumer Product Safety Commission, the Heartwarming Hugs weighted plush bear is a choking hazard.

A consumer in the United Kingdom reported an issue with the bear's zipper slider detaching, creating a choking hazard. No injuries have been reported.

The recall applies to 36,000 bears sold through Build-A-Bear Workshop stores and online from January through March 2026. The bears have a side pouch containing a heart filled with 2.5 pounds of ceramic beads, which can be heated or cooled for comfort. The pouch is secured with a zipper.

The model number is 034464. The model number is located on the label sewn into the back side of one bear leg.

People who own the bear can either return it to a local Build-A-Bear store or visit Build-A-Bear's website for a refund.
