Construction worker, hit by vehicle, dies
A Raleigh man was killed after a car struck him Saturday afternoon.
Posted — UpdatedCARY, N.C. — A construction worker died after being struck by a vehicle during a job on Davis Drive on Saturday afternoon.
Nelson Rivera, 45, of 3821 Brentwood Road, Apt. G., tripped and fell while walking behind a vehicle, which was attempting to back up, on Davis Drive, near Kit Creek Road around 1:30 p.m.
Rivera then tripped and fell. Police said the driver did not see Rivera and hit him.
Police said Rivera had been hired through a temporary employment agency to work for a construction company that was widening Davis Drive.
