Community grieves at funeral for 17-year-old killed outside Bojangles
The funeral for Veronica Lee Baker, the teenager who was found dead in her car outside Bojangles on Jones Sausage Road, was Saturday afternoon.

GARNER, N.C. — The funeral for Veronica Lee Baker, the 17-year-old who was found in her vehicle outside Bojangles after being shot and killed, took place on Saturday afternoon at 2 p.m. at Byran-Lee Funeral Chapel in Garner.
Baker's burial followed at Montlawn Memorial Park.
"She was taken much too young and will be greatly missed by her family and friends," said her obituary.
She was remembered as a loving, friendly, smart, honest, hardworking young woman that touched the lives of so many in her short time here.
Baker would have started college this week.
A GoFundMe for Baker's family has raised more than $10,000.
