Community gathers to celebrate Olympic silver medalist Claire Curzan
Friends, family and the Cary community are coming together on Friday to welcome local swimmer and Olympic silver medalist Claire Curzan home.

Good? Okay, thank you so much first of all, Congratulations. How does it feel to be back in carrying wearing that around your neck. It's honestly, it's just so nice to be back home. It's so nice to kind of see the support from the community and I'm so happy to see how would you describe your journey getting to? Um it was definitely a long road, especially with it being postponed, but you know, with the hard work, I think it was definitely worth it and I'm so glad I was able to experience it and participate, seeing your family here, seeing the community, the fire department, I'm sure tons of other people, I know people at T A C, your coach, well, I'll be out here as well. Tell me, how does it feel to be able to kind of soak it here here. I mean, just the support I got from after trials and making the team was incredible and then being able to come home and see everyone else just after at that long road in Tokyo, I don't know if I can really put it into words, but I'm so excited to be back with everyone and I just want to thank everyone for just supporting And player, you're still young, 17 years old and the youngest on that team described, you know what we may see in the are you hoping for another ride? Yeah, I mean, I had a blast of Tokyo and everyone was amazing. So I definitely want to try to make okay, another olympic team, but focus on your chance now. Yeah, I think you want to ask about the silver medal wearing it everywhere. No, it's actually pretty heavy. It kind of hurts my neck a little bit. But no, it's been mainly in the box and I've just been handing it out for other people because I mean I don't think everyone seems kind of a big meals a lot.
