Recently discovered comet C/2022 E3 (ZTF) is brightening as it approaches the Sun.
Comets aren't the only ones with tails streaming behind. Bombarded by the solar wind, Mercury and even our own Moon, form a thin tail of material lifted from their surfaces by the solar wind.
Leonard was discovered in January by Astronomer Greg Leonard from the Mount Lemmon Observatory near Tucson, Arizona.
Leonard is a recently-discovered comet that has been traveling for the past year from where it was first detected, close to Jupiter toward the sun.
