If you are headed to the Southern Women's Show at the NC State Fairgrounds this weekend, come by the WRAL Smart Shopper booth and say hello! We are located right behind the main WRAL booth in the Exposition Building. You can register to win a $25 Lowe's Foods Gift Card, grab some chocolate and hang out and chat! I'll also have my book and DVD available for sale at a discount.
Meal Planning Class: I will also be teaching a 30 minute class on The Magic of Meal Planning on Friday at 1:30 PM on the cooking stage. Stop by for some great tips on frugal menu planning as well as a sample of delicious and frugal baked ravioli! Did I mention there would be some giveaways at the class as well? I'll have some Lowes Foods $5 Fresh Rewards coupons and a Cold Stone coupon for free ice cream sandwiches to give away as door prizes for a lucky few. I hope to see you at the cooking stage in the Exposition Building on Friday!
I also want to clarify a little issue I have had some questions about. This year, the Southern Women's Show contracted with a woman from Florida to teach coupon classes at most of the Southern Women's Shows throughout the South this season. They did this in early 2009, long before I was even working with WRAL (who is a media sponsor of the Southern Women's Show). When I contacted the Southern Women's Show about teaching at the event, the show's organizer explained that they were already under contract with another person for all their shows. She also let me know that next year I was welcome to teach the classes at the Raleigh show. She seemed genuinely sorry that they had not looked for local couponing experts in the towns where the shows are going to be held.
There are discount tickets available at Harris Teeter or you can print out a $1 coupon from the SWS website. The link is in the box above.
I'll be at the booth all day Friday and Saturday and the first part of Sunday. Sarah from WRAL's Go Ask Mom will be at the booth Sunday afternoon. I look forward to seeing you at the show!
