Columbus County man arrested in drug bust

A man in Tabor City was arrested after the Columbus County Sheriff's Office found illegal drugs in a home.

TABOR CITY, N.C. — A man in Tabor City was arrested after the Columbus County Sheriff's Office found illegal drugs in a home.

Deputies had learned of drug deals occurring at a home on Tillman Avenue after getting numerous tips from the public.

During the search of the home, marijuana, cocaine, buprenorphine, and three firearms were seized.

Russell Bay Fairley Jr., 35, was charged with possession of a firearm by felon, possession with intent to sell or deliver cocaine, possession with intent to sell or deliver marijuana, possession with intent to sell or deliver schedule IV controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia, and maintaining a dwelling for controlled substances.

His bond was set at $65,000 secured.
