Cary, N.C. — A collapsed sewer line reduced traffic to one lane in each direction Friday on Walnut Street near South Walker Street.
Signs were posted to direct drivers around the area, and minor delays were expected through the evening as contractors work to correct the problem.
Construction at the old Cary Elementary School nearby caused the sewer line to collapse, officials said.
The sewer line was expected to be repaired by Friday night, but the lanes were to remain closed until the road could be repaved over the weekend, officials said.
