Cold morning starts pleasant Valentine's Day
Thursday morning started out about 10 degrees colder than Wednesday morning, but partly cloudy skies will make for a sweet Valentine's Day.
Posted — UpdatedTemperatures were in the 30s but were expected to climb to the 60s.
A high-pressure system moving eastward will push warm air from the south, making Thursday and Friday mild.
Friday could see temperatures in the high 60s.
But rain will move in Saturday and hunker down, possibly making the day a washout, meteorologist Elizabeth Gardner said.
“It’s just going to sit here, and we’re going to have a very wet pattern developing,” she said.
“Enjoy today and tomorrow,” Gardner said Thursday morning.
Temperatures will drop to the 50s Saturday and into the 40s Sunday.
The Triangle will have a quick break from rain early Sunday morning before yet another system moves in.
“It just looks wet, wet, wet,” Gardner said of the weekend.
The rain is expected to continue Monday and Tuesday. The Triangle could see an inch-and-a-half of rain by the time skies clear Wednesday.
