Temperatures warm up into the 80s through the week

There's some good news in the weather forecast today. We're expecting to see a dry, cool fall weekend. And even better news? That nice, crisp weather is expected to stick with us through the work week.

Highs on the rise this week -- on Wednesday we could see temps get back up in the 80s.

That cooler air that we enjoyed this past weekend will gradually move out central North Carolina this week.

On Monday, temperatures will start out in the upper 40s and low 50s, but meteorologist Zach Maloch said warmer weather is on the way.

"We'll see a mostly sunny sky tomorrow, even with that northeast wind," explained Maloch.

By Monday afternoon and continuing into Tuesday, temperatures will be in the 70s. By Wednesday, temperatures could be in the 80s.

Temperatures will then drop back into the 70s on Thursday.

7-Day Forecast

Rain chances during the week will remain low, but Tropical Depression 26 could bring storms starting on Friday.

Maloch said Tropical Depression 26 could weaken when it makes landfall, merge with a cold-front that pushes through North Carolina producing showers.

Once that cold-front passes through, drier conditions are expected for early next week.
