The park at 319 S. Academy St. in Cary features games, open space, a stage, a lighted water fall and lots of public events.

— A last-minute add to our weekend activities post ... check out these events in Cary!

From 8 a.m. to 11 a.m., Saturday, Cary's Downtown Park will host Baristas and Bakers, a monthly pop-up coffee shop featuring beverages from local coffee shops and baked goods from local bakeries. (Yum!) You can start your day at the park, which also includes a pretty fantastic water fountain, bocce ball, ping pong and other games.

And then you can head down to the Cary Downtown Farmers' Market, which runs 8 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., Saturday, at the Ivey-Ellington House, 135 W. Chatham St. It's less than half a mile from Downtown Park.

At the market, you'll find fresh produce, live music, a free gentle movement class at 10 a.m. and special kids activities, including a storytime, bocce ball, container gardening and fairy garden building.
