Coastal areas could see an inch of snow
Wintry weather was expected to linger on the North Carolina coast Tuesday morning as a system moved eastward through the state, meteorologist Elizabeth Gardner said.

Onslow County Schools canceled classes Tuesday.
A sprinkle is possible in the Triangle, but Gardner expects it to stay mostly dry.
Clouds will move into the Triangle during lunchtime but will gradually clear throughout the rest of the day.
Temperatures will stay in the 30s on Tuesday.
Temperatures will drop into 20s Tuesday and Wednesday night. Thursday and Friday highs will be in the 50s, and the weekend will see temperatures in the 60s.
