Hatteras, N.C. — The United States Coast Guard has released video showing the rescue of an engineer who suffered a medical emergency at sea.
The 48-year-old man was flown by helicopter to Pitt Memorial Hospital on Tuesday after he suffered a medical emergency on the Titania cargo ship while sailing 20 miles south of Hatteras Island.
A crew member on the ship contacted the N.C. Command Center after he found the engineer semi-conscious and lying on a deck, according to the Coast Guard.
The man had lacerations on his body and a possible concussion.
