Coast Guard member pleads guilty to child porn charge

Posted — UpdatedRALEIGH, N.C. — A Coast Guard seaman pleaded guilty Monday to possessing child pornography, authorities said.
Keith David Smith, 22, of Oak Island, pleaded guilty to receipt of child pornography, which carries a maximum penalty of 20 years imprisonment and a $250,000 fine. He will be sentenced later.
An analysis of Smith's laptop and desk computers showed 45 digital images and 33 videos of child pornography on the
desktop and 37 digital images on the laptop, authorities said.
