Clues sought after 22-year-old man fatally shot near downtown Durham
A man was shot and killed Sunday on S. Alston Avenue.
Posted — UpdatedDURHAM, N.C. — Police were searching for a suspect and a motive after a man was shot and killed Sunday near downtown Durham, authorities said.
Investigators identified the victim as Kendrick Maynor, 22. He died after being rushed for treatment to a local hospital, according to police.
Durham police were called to the 800 block S. Alston Avenue around 3:30 a.m. When they arrived, they found Maynor suffering from a gunshot wound.
The shooting is under investigation.
Police have not yet said publicly what prompted the gunfire or if Maynor knew his assailant.
