RALEIGH, N.C. — Saturday has been a cold and blustery day. The skies will begin to clear and it'll warm up starting Sunday.

Some spotty showers were in the Triangle area on Saturday morning. WRAL meteorologist Zach Maloch said most of the extreme rain is staying on our coast.

A low-pressure system off the coast met with an upper-level low on Saturday, causing rain and wind to intensify in some parts. There was still a chance for some showers Saturday night but most of the heavy rain will stay east of us.

Rain will gradually clear from the area on Sunday, but it will still be cloudy and blustery. Gusts could reach 45 mph this weekend.

Current Temperatures, DMA

Temperatures will stay chilly in the low-to-mid 40s, but wind chill will make it feel more like the 30s.

Things will warm up starting Sunday, when the high will reach the mid-50s by the middle of the week.
