Cleveland Co. school bus driver arrested on suspicion of driving bus while impaired

A Cleveland County school bus driver was arrested for driving the bus impaired with students onboard, according to the North Carolina State Highway Patrol.

CLEVELAND COUNTY, N.C. — A Cleveland County school bus driver was arrested for driving the bus impaired with students onboard, according to the North Carolina State Highway Patrol.
State Troopers said an employee at Union Elementary School in Shelby noticed something was wrong with the driver and notified the school resource officer, according to WCNC. Troopers were called in to investigate.

Troopers determined the driver, Raven Fite, was impaired.

Fite was taken to a hospital and given a consensual blood draw before going to Cleveland County jail on charges of DWI and reckless driving to endanger.
