Clerk assaulted during convenience store robbery

— Raleigh police are looking for two men who assaulted a clerk while robbing a convenience store late Monday.

The men ran into the Kangaroo Express at 3289 Avent Ferry Road and forced the clerk to open the cash register, police said.

One of the suspects hit the clerk in the face, police said.

The clerk was not seriously injured.

The suspects then fled the store.

The investigation is ongoing. More details of the incident haven't been released.
