Clayton woman walking on road hit, killed by car
A woman was hit and killed while walking on a Johnston County road on Tuesday night.

CLAYTON, N.C. — A woman was hit and killed by a minivan while walking on a Johnston County road on Tuesday night.
The incident happened at Government Road and Mary Meadows Lane in Clayton.
Officials said Debra Jean Morgan, 58, stepped into the path of an incoming vehicle.
The driver of the van remained on the scene and will not be charged, according to officials.
