Clayton man will start his own company after $1 million lottery win
A Clayton man has plans to start his own company after winning $1 million.
Posted — UpdatedBryan Lopez-Muruato, 21, currently works as a construction worker for his father’s concrete company. He now plans to invest in his father’s company and eventually start a concrete company of his own.
“I’m really excited,” said Lopez-Muruato. “This really opens opportunities for me and for my family.”
Lopez-Muruato bought the Millionaire Maker ticket from the Circle K on Delta Lake Drive in Raleigh. He waited two weeks but scratched it Saturday.
“I couldn’t believe it,” said Lopez-Muruato. “I just kept rereading the ticket.”
Lopez-Muruato claimed his prize Monday at lottery headquarters in Raleigh. He chose to take home a lump sum of $600,000, or $426,069 after required state and federal tax withholdings.
Lopez-Muruato is the 27th person to win one of the $1 million prizes in the Millionaire Maker game, which launched in March 2021.
