Clayton man sentenced on child porn charge
A Clayton man was sentenced Wednesday to 51/2 years in federal prison on child porn charges.
Posted — UpdatedSteven Schriefels, 37, pleaded guilty in December to one count of receipt of child pornography.
His 66-month imprisonment will be followed by 30 years of probation, and he must register as a sex offender. He was also ordered to pay a $4,000 fine.
Prosecutors said that Schriefels had 600 images and 23 videos of child pornography on his home computer.
He first came to the attention of the U.S. Secret Service in April 2009 for allegedly making threats against President Barack Obama. Prosecutors said a search of his computer found no evidence of the threats, but turned up the child porn.
