Clayton businessman accused of bank fraud

Ahmed Walid Samour, 37, of 128 Kendall Drive, was arrested for cashing worthless money orders totaling more than $150,000, according to arrest warrants.

CLAYTON, N.C. — A Clayton business man is accused of bank fraud.

Ahmed Walid Samour, 37, of 128 Kendall Drive, was arrested for cashing worthless money orders totaling more than $150,000, according to arrest warrants.

Samour is accused of trying to use his personal and business accounts at two different Triangle banks from January to May 2010 despite knowing the money orders were worthless.

Samour was being held under a $25,000 bond in the Wake County jail on Thursday.
