Civil case against Xe stays in federal court
A lawsuit against the company formerly known as Blackwater and six of its security guards will remain in federal court in Raleigh, a judge decided Friday.

Families of 14 Iraqi civilians shot in 2007 filed a civil suit after one guard pleaded guilty to criminal charges and five others had manslaughter charges dropped.
Attorneys for the defense wanted the case moved back to Wake County Superior Court and treated as any other wrongful death case.
Blackwater, now known as Xe, is based in eastern North Carolina.
