Raleigh, N.C. — The delivery of the state Christmas tree closed two streets and snarled traffic in downtown Raleigh Monday morning.
Morgan and Fayetteville streets were shut down around 9 a.m. while a truck carting the tree made its way through downtown.
Some drivers said they were stuck in traffic for more than 20 minutes.
The Christmas tree was set up on the Morgan Street side of the grounds of the State Capitol building. Gov. Bev Perdue will light the tree in a ceremony at 6 p.m. Dec. 10.
