HOLLY SPRINGS, N.C. — A fire sparked inside a Chinese restaurant overnight while the business was closed.

The fire was reported Wednesday around 1 a.m. at China Uno, located at 308 Village Walk Drive inside the South Park Village shopping center.

One worker was still inside closing the restaurant for the night.

The worker was not injured, and a sprinkler system and fast response from firefighters helped keep damage to a minimum.

Officials said smoke spread to one nearby business. An adjacent nail salon had to be ventilated, but there was no major damage.

Firefighters had to break glass to get inside the restaurant.

Both business owners told WRAL News they were grateful the fire wasn't worse.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
