RALEIGH, N.C. — Scott Crawford, who opened Standard Foods last fall on Person Street in Raleigh, is leaving the restaurant and Hobby Properties, his partnership with John Holmes.

“We wish Executive Chef Scott Crawford the best as he leaves to pursue new ventures,” said Holmes, who also explained they will not be opening Nash Tavern together.

Crawford said, “I’m proud of what we’ve accomplished for the community, and now it’s time for me to pursue other goals.”

Crawford will leave the restaurant after the first week of May.

Standard Foods’ grocery and adjacent 80-seat restaurant are the anchor tenants of Hobby's Person Street Plaza.

The restaurant was envisioned as a place where chefs, farmers, butchers and bartenders could collaborate and celebrate North Carolina and regional agriculture,” Holmes said. “We’re thankful to Chef Crawford for lending his stamp on local food, and we look forward to sharing news about our new team soon.”
