The two-alarm fire broke out along N.C. Highway 87 North late Friday, officials said.
Crews from the state Division of Forest Resources and the Northern Chatham and Pittsboro fire departments responded to the blaze. They used a plow to bring the fire under control.
By 5 a.m., firefighters had put out the blaze and cleared the scene, officials said.
No structures were damaged, and no one was injured.
