APEX, N.C. — A Chatham County man has been charged with stealing and pawning several items that he had reported stolen, authorities said Wednesday.

Christopher Shane Lancaster, 27, of 2628 N.C. Highway 751, is charged with three counts each of felony breaking and entering, felony larceny after breaking and felony obtaining property by false pretense, two counts of felony larceny of a firearm and possession of drug paraphernalia and one count each of felony breaking and entering of a motor vehicle, larceny, making a false report to a police station and possession of marijuana.

Chatham County deputies responded to a burglary call at a home on N.C. 751 on Feb. 22, when Lancaster and two other people reported various items had been stolen, including assorted work tools and two firearms.

Investigators searched pawn shop records and discovered that some of the stolen items were pawned in Sanford by Lancaster. Deputies recovered several of the stolen items last week.
