Chatham County deputies investigating suspected murder-suicide

Deputies said they were called to a shots fired situation shortly after 5:30 p.m. on Sunday. Officials did not release where the incident took place but said the scene was secure.

"The incident is not considered to be random and there is no ongoing threat to the community at large," said Lt. Sara Pack, Public Information Officer with the sheriff's office, in an email.

No names have been released and investigators said they were still gathering evidence.
