DURHAM, N.C. — Authorities believe a man responsible for an armed robbery Sunday in Durham may be connected to similar incidents in Granville County.

The Durham County Sheriff’s Office said deputies responded to an armed robbery at the Joy Mart on Glenn School Road at about 5:30 p.m.

Deputies said a man wearing a mask and gloves entered the store and demanded money while threatening the clerk with a handgun.

The man fled from the store in a gold Chevrolet Silverado pick-up truck with an undisclosed amount of cash.

The vehicle headed north on Interstate 85 and was later stopped by deputies in Granville County near the Vance County line, according to authorities.

Investigators in Granville County believe the man, who has not been identified, was involved in two similar armed robberies in that county on Saturday.
