Charges filed in fatal Fayetteville wreck
A Fayetteville man was charged Monday in connection with a fatal March 17 wreck near Cape Fear Valley Medical Center, police said.
Posted — UpdatedFAYETTEVILLE, N.C. — A Fayetteville man was charged Monday in connection with a fatal March 17 wreck near Cape Fear Valley Medical Center, police said.
Curtis Cahoon, 23, was charged with misdemeanor death by vehicle and running a red light.
Police said Cahoon's GMC van collided with a Ford pickup at the intersection of Village and Owen drives. The pickup then overturned and hit a Chevrolet Suburban.
The driver of the pickup, Herman Douglas, 86, of Red Springs, was killed in the wreck. Cahoon and the driver of the Suburban, Venus Taumanupepe, 27, of Fayetteville, suffered minor injuries.
