CHAPEL HILL, N.C. — After more than seven years in business, Kipos Greek restaurant in Chapel Hill is relocating to the Eastgate Crossing Shopping Center.

The restaurant opened at 431 W Franklin St. in 2013. It is moving to 1800 E. Franklin St., the former home of Babalu restaurant. The space is known for having a large patio and garden area.

“While Franklin street has been a beautiful place to call home for over seven years, our decision to move aligns with better business practices in this new age of hospitality,” owner Giorgios Bakatsias said. “This is an especially ideal location for Kipos – which means 'garden'– because of the lush garden patio surrounding the restaurant."

Kipos has been closed since March due to coronavirus concerns. It did not offer take-out.

All restaurants have reopened for in-person dining and curbside take-out.
