But two local library systems have announced they're going virtual.
Just in time for holiday shopping, the Friends of Chapel Hill Public Library will host its Big Book Sale next month, with more than 20,000 books, movies, games, puzzles and more.

The Chapel Hill Public Library Foundation is setting up a mini golf course to raise money for the library system. Birdies Fore Books runs Friday, Oct. 4, with an adults-only party and Saturday, Oct. 5, with fun for the whole family at the library.
More than 20,000 books, movies, vinyl, games, art and more will be on sale. All proceeds will benefit the programs, collection and services at the library.
