Chapel Hill police nab suspect in multiple home break-ins

Police have arrested a man they believe committed a series of residential break-ins starting in August.

CHAPEL HILL, N.C. — Police have arrested a man they believe committed a series of residential break-ins starting in August.

Dawshawn Tysin Glenn, 20, of 936 Shady Lawn Road Extension, was charged with 10 felony counts each of larceny and of breaking and entering, along with one felony count each of attempted larceny and of attempted breaking and entering.

The break-ins occurred at homes in the Shadylawn and Piney Mountain areas of Chapel Hill.

Glenn was being held in the Orange County Jail under a $160,000 bond late Friday morning.

Nine forcible break-ins were reported in Chapel Hill in the first two weeks of August. Details of each are shown on the map below. Police have not said if Glenn is responsible for these particular crimes, but his home is indicated on the map in red.
