Chapel Hill man pleads guilty in 2015 Carrboro murder
A Chapel Hill man will spend at least 14 years in prison for killing a Carrboro man in late 2015, police said.

CARRBORO, N.C. — A Chapel Hill man will spend at least 14 years in prison for killing a Carrboro man in late 2015, police said.
Tory Amyr Pope, 33, pleaded guilty Tuesday to second-degree murder and robbery with a dangerous weapon in the Dec. 26, 2015, death of Todd Richardson.
Richardson, 56, was found dead in a home at 101 N.C. Highway 54 by police responding to a request to check on him. Police have never disclosed the cause of death.
Pope was sentenced to 14 to almost 18 years in prison for the crimes.
