Chapel Hill K-9 Retires From Police Force

A loyal member of the Chapel Hill Police Department retired Monday.

CHAPEL HILL, N.C. — A loyal member of the Chapel Hill Police Department retired Monday.

K-9 Otto, a five-year veteran of the police force, will remain with his handler, Officer Rick Ennis. Otto turned 9 this year.

Ennis has been with the Chapel Hill Police Department for 20 years, Otto is the second K-9 partner that he has had in his 13 years as a K-9 officer.

Ennis, who will continue to serve as a patrol officer, also was honored Monday for his service to the K-9 program.
