Chapel Hill house damaged in fire

A house at 114 Tremont Circle sustained approximately $60,000 in damage in a fire Saturday night, according to Chapel Hill Fire Department Deputy Chief Matt Lawrence. No one was injured.

CHAPEL HILL, N.C. — A house at 114 Tremont Circle sustained approximately $60,000 in damage in a fire Saturday night, according to Chapel Hill Fire Department Deputy Chief Matt Lawrence.

No one was injured. Investigators said the cause of the fire was electrical.

"The first fire crews arrived within two minutes to find heavy smoke throughout the two-story home," according to the fire department's news release. "The fire was located in an upstairs bedroom and extinguished within 10 minutes."
