CHAPEL HILL, N.C. — A new deli is opening in Chapel Hill, owners announced Tuesday.
Deli Edison will open on Monday in the North Chapel Hill Cedar Falls Courtyard at 630 Weaver Dairy Road. Bagels, pastries and breakfast sandwiches will be served in the morning. The deli case will have salads, charcuterie, sandwiches, pizza and house-made hot dogs.

The restaurant will also have a bar serving Carrboro Coffee, wines by the bottle and local and international beer.

Deli Edison is owned by partners Dan Obusan, Sam Suchoff and Pete Wagner. The deli will be opened across the courtyard from Suchoff's other two ventures: The Pig, a whole-hog barbecue joint, which opened in 2010, and Your Neighborhood Bar, which is being renamed Piggyback.

“When I opened The Pig in north Chapel Hill in 2010, I hoped this area would become a food destination,” Suchoff said. “Now that Deli Edison is open, you can get fresh-baked bagels with a schmear, humanely raised whole-hog barbecue and great cocktails, all in this quiet strip mall. I'm super-excited about our central courtyard, where you can meet up with friends and family and share food and drinks from all three places."

Suchoff also owns Lady Edison Meats, which produces ham and charcuterie. Those meats will be served at Deli Edison.

Deli Edison will be open 7 a.m. to 2 p.m. daily. Those hours will be expanded during the holidays.
