Cumberland County, N.C. — Starting next week, drivers in Hope Mills will encounter changes at the N.C. Highway 59 interchange at Interstate 95 Business.
Traffic is going to shift to a new five-lane bridge later this month. Crews can then begin demolishing the old bridge.
The on-and off-ramps currently are not quite high enough to reach the new bridge.
The North Carolina Department of Transportation will have to close the ramps to and from Southbound Business 95 and build new ones.
Northbound ramps at the interchange will remain open.
Expect a detour starting Monday and allow a few extra minutes through there.
All of the new ramps should open in a couple of months.
