But I'm also hopeful. As of today, 59 million people in the United States have received at least one dose of a covid 19 vaccine, and approximately 31 million, or 9.2% of the US population is fully vaccinated, putting us on a strong path to eventually end this pandemic. And, as you just heard, we are now vaccinating more than two million people per day. We've been through a lot this past year, and with more and more people getting vaccinated each day, we are starting to turn a corner. And as more Americans are vaccinated, a growing body of evidence now tells us that there are some activities that fully vaccinated people can resume at low risk to themselves. This is why today C D. C. Is releasing its initial guidance for the public that for the first time lays out some of the activities considered safe for those who are fully vaccinated. When I say fully vaccinated, I mean people who are two weeks after their second dose of either the Pfizer or Moderna vaccines or two weeks after a single dose of the Johnson and Johnson vaccine. Before I talk about the specific recommendations. I want to underscore a few important points. First, robust clinical trial data demonstrate that the current covid 19 vaccines are highly effective at protecting vaccinated people against severe illness, hospitalization or death from Covid 19. However, there is still a small risk that vaccinated people could become infected with milder or asymptomatic disease and potentially even transmit the virus to others who are not vaccinated. Understanding the size of this risk in vaccinated people and the risk of transmitting the virus to others who are not vaccinated is an ongoing area of research. Second, it's important to note that this is initial guidance. The science of COVID 19 is complex and our understanding of the virus continues to rapidly evolve. The recommendations issued today are just a first step. As more people get vaccinated and the science and evidence expands, and as the disease dynamics of this country change, we will continue to update this guidance. Importantly, our guidance must be must balance the risk to people who have been fully vaccinated, the risks to those who have not yet received the vaccine and the impact on the larger community transmission of covid 19 with when we what we all recognize to be the overall benefits of resuming everyday activities and getting back to something to some of the things we love in life. It's against this backdrop and the current state of the pandemic that we have developed these new recommendations. With today's initial guidance, it's important to note that we are focusing on activities of fully vaccinated people can resume in private settings such as their homes under two scenarios. The first scenario is fully vaccinated people visiting with other fully vaccinated people. In this slide, these individuals are represented by solid green circles. In this scenario, CDC recommends that fully vaccinated people can visit with other fully vaccinated people in small gatherings indoors without wearing masks or physical distancing. Remember, here we are talking about private settings where everyone is vaccinated. So what does this mean? If you and a friend or you and a family member are both vaccinated, you can have dinner together wearing masks without distancing. You can visit your grandparents if you have been vaccinated and they have been to now I want to talk to you about another, more complicated scenario. It involves vaccinated people visiting with unvaccinated people when fully vaccinated people visit with unvaccinated people. We have to consider the underlying risks of the unvaccinated people and any unvaccinated members of their household. We take this approach because all of our guidance is rooted in making sure we are keeping people safe. So CDC recommends that fully vaccinated people can visit with unvaccinated people from one other household indoors without wearing masks or physical distancing, as long as the unvaccinated people and any unvaccinated members of their household are not at high risk for severe covid 19 disease in the slide, people who are vaccinated and at low risk for severe covid 19 are indicated by solid orange circles. This means that none of the unvaccinated people or any unvaccinated members of their households, for example, are an adult over age 65 or have an underlying conditions such as cancer, heart disease or diabetes that could increase their risk of covid 19 related hospitalization or death. Here's an example. If grandparents have been vaccinated, they can visit their daughter and her family even if they have not been vaccinated so long as the daughter and her family are not at risk for severe disease, they are solid orange circles. Second, if an unvaccinated individuals or any unvaccinated member of their household are at high risk for severe disease shown here by hollow orange circles, everyone, regardless of vaccination status, should still wear a mask and physically distance and choose to meet outdoors or in a well ventilated space. This is recommended to keep the individuals at high risk who are unvaccinated safe. Similarly, when fully vaccinated, people are visiting with unvaccinated people from multiple households. Everyone should wear masks and physically distance and meet outdoors in a well ventilated space, moving on to quarantine away from visiting. In addition to these new recommendations on visitation and private settings, CDCs new guidance also recommends that fully vaccinated people do not need quarantine or get tested following a known exposure to someone with COVID 19 as long as they are asymptomatic at this time, the CDC is not adjusting current guidance on travel. We believe these new recommendations are an important first step to our in our efforts to reduce resume everyday activities in our communities. However, we remain in the midst of a serious pandemic and still over 90% of our population is not fully vaccinated though we are working hard to get there. Therefore, everyone, whether vaccinated or not, should continue to avoid medium and large size gatherings as well as non essential travel. And when in public spaces should continue to wear a well fitted mask physically distance and follow other public health measures to protect themselves as others, Covid, 19, continues to exact a tremendous toll on our nation like you, I want to be able to return to everyday activities and engage with our friends, families and communities. Science and the protection of the public health must guide us as we begin to resume these activities. Today's action represents an important first step. It is not our final destination. As more people get vaccinated levels of covid 19 infection decline in communities and as our understanding of covid immunity improves, we look forward to updating these recommendations to the public. I know this is complex and I've covered a lot of ground this morning, so I want to recap the main points of our initial guidance released today. In summary, fully vaccinated people can visit with other fully vaccinated people indoors without wearing a mask or physical distancing visit with unvaccinated people from a single household who are at low risk of severe covid 19 disease indoors without wearing masks or physical distancing, and refrain from quarantine and testing following a known covid 19 exposure. If the vaccinated person remains asymptomatic for now, we will continue to examine this in the upcoming weeks as an update. Our guidance accordingly, Fully vaccinated people should continue to take precautions like public in public, like wearing masks and physical distancing, where well fitted masks and physically distance, and adhere to other prevention measures when visiting with unvaccinated people who are at increased risk of severe covid or who have an unvaccinated family member household member who is at increased risk of covid wear masks physically distance and practice other prevention measures when visiting with unvaccinated people from multiple households. Avoid medium and large sized crowds. Get tested of experiencing covid 19 symptoms, follow guidance issued by individual employers and follow CDC and Health Department travel recommendations. As I close, I want to stress that we have. We continue to have high levels of virus around the country and more readily transmissible variants have now been confirmed in nearly every state. While we work to quickly vaccinate people more and more each day. We have to see this through. Let's stick together. Please keep wearing a well fitting mask and taking the other public health actions we know work to help stop the spread of this virus. Thank you so much for your time.

<p>I'm meteorologist, Kat Campbell and the wr a severe weather center, we do have the potential for some additional scattered storms on Friday. There is a level one threat for severe storms. So this is a low threat, but there could be some hail, perhaps some damaging wind gusts. And the primary threat looks to be south and east of Raleigh at this point though Raleigh and really anywhere could see the storms. The timing. I'm thinking between about 1 p.m. and 8 p.m. should be a quiet start to, it's around lunchtime that we begin to see our first storms of the day fire up probably in our southern counties. And then a little bit later in the afternoon, we could see some storms pop up pretty much anywhere. There's a chance that they try to come together as a line in eastern North Carolina toward the coastal plain and the coast. So we'll watch for that potential as well. 81 for the high tomorrow Saturday, some clouds as you're waking up possibly. But we see clearing partly cloudy skies for the afternoon and then we've got this weak disturbance approaching from the northwest. The air is going to dry out significantly over the weekend though. So it's not going to feel this humid, but that should help to limit just how much rain we could see. Saturday evening, I'm only going with about a 20% chance for rain as that swings through. Then for Mother's Day weekend, it is less humid. It's comfortable. It ends up being a beautiful weekend for mom 74 Saturday, 79 on Sunday, Sunday for take an hour by hour. Look 6 a.m. It's in the mid fifties by lunchtime, 70 warming up to 79 for the high and mid seventies at dinner time. It's Mother's Day weekend, meaning we've got a lot of college graduations happening. UN C graduation 7 p.m. 68 degrees. And for the 10 a.m. graduation at Shaw, it should be around 62. We also have MEREDITH College 8, 30 graduation, 55 and for the 11 a.m. 65 Duke graduating on Sunday should be beautiful. 59 at 9 a.m. with more sunshine. Over the next seven days, we've got some ups and downs temperature wise, but no more nine. So we get a break from the big heat. Saturday looking pretty nice. Just that 20% chance for rain. Saturday night, early next week, a quiet start. But as we get into the middle of next week, it's increasingly unsettled with rain and storm chances climbing up to 60% by Tuesday.</p>

<p>So, um, it's just, it's just part of it. Um, I think our five on five games been been good and, um, obviously special teams, we need to share that up. And, um, just, yeah, obviously that, that needs to be a focal point moving forward. You got a fine line to walk, you know, wanting to be a physical game with all that but not to take the foolish penalties that give them opportunities. Yeah, I was just luck at last game. We had, uh, uh, most of our penalties are stick penalties. So, um, just need to start checking with your body instead of your stick and, um, I was guilty of one and there was a few other ones. So, uh, you just stay away from those ones and we'll be fine. Do you, do you embrace the pressure of having to come back here down? Two? Oh. And having a chance to maybe push it back the other way if you guys can get it done today. Yeah, I, I had a coach in junior hockey told me you're, you're not this until you lose at home. That's, that's been, he said that and we haven't lost at home. So, um, they, they did their job, they won their two at home. Now it's our turn to do ours and, um, starts with tonight and try and you, you win your games at home and then it goes to uh best of three, but we'll focus on tonight as a leader on the team. Yeah, I mean, Brady is playing a Ton and Tony, we know we can do it. It's just, you know, we had to get power play all year and Brady was running on that unit, but we know Tony is capable of it. Um, well, I think, you know, Freddie's played really well, but he's also played a lot and I think, uh, give him a little rest is the best thing you've said that you're not worried, you never have been worried about couch's ability to step right back in despite knocking the play off. And what has he been doing? Especially the majority of his time. Is it kind of split between watching film and practicing? Is he doing something different? No, just getting ready. Practice. You ready? I mean, he doesn't, I don't know how much film work he does. I mean, it's the goal is just getting himself ready. He does work with Polly, but I mean, at the end of the day it's, I think, uh, you know, he's fresh and hopefully that was a great game. You anticipated, you said yesterday, you anticipated, who is he getting back in? Is that what you're gonna do today? He's fine. Right. Do you see this as a matchup series? Like as far as sometimes there, there are, sometimes there's, they're not for you. Is this a matchup series? And do you have more of an advantage because of that people? Um, yeah, I mean, you have certain game plan going in, you know, certain, you know, maybe guys you wanna play against but it really, um that's, it's, um, yes and no. Uh uh I mean, obviously there's more about um, the d matching up really more than even the floors. But yeah, I mean, we'd love to get our top guys against their top guys. Your estimation is to check out, do anything differently as a goalie playing behind your group. Well, he's got a different demeanor. I mean, that's obvious and he said he's really comical and creature is a little more passionate and, you know, wes his emotions are on his sleeve. But yeah, I know they both pretty good goalies. Coach, a player like this, a tr check for the Rangers who scored in every playoff game so far. I just want to stop them to stop his momentum from getting going. Well, I mean, there's no different game plan for him than anyone else. You gotta do your best when you're out there. And, um, you know, we know him very well. Good player.
