CDC: NC ranks among lowest for vaccine distribution

Nationwide, more than 4.5 million people have received the first round of vaccinations. There are still 11 million doses distributed which have not been used as of yet.

As of January 4, seven states, including North Carolina, are pictured in a light blue. These are the states that have vaccinated fewer than 1000 people out of every 100,000.

North Carolina's rate - 966 people per 100,000. That's fewer than only five other states in the country.

West Virginia's rate is more than triple North Carolina's.

The vaccine distribution rate for our state isn't much better, still in the light blue and ranked among the 10th lowest for of vaccines that have been distributed thus far.

When looking at the percentage of vaccinations that have been distributed versus those administered, North Carolina has only given out 25.5%, not much lower than the nation which is at 29.5%.
