HIGH POINT, N.C. — A photo of a woman butchering a deer inside a High Point nail salon is going viral.

Morgan Taylor posted the photo on Facebook in November. It shows an aproned woman kneeling over an animal carcass inside Diamond Nails on North Centennial Street. There is a plastic blue sheet under the carcass and an orange cooler beside it.

According to FOX 8, the salon had just closed when the photo was taken, and the last customer was checking out.

FOX 8 reports the North Carolina Board of Cosmetic Art Examiners said no penalty was issued to the salon because they do not have any regulations that address dead wildlife. Diamond Nails has a 96 sanitation grade.
In January 2018, someone posted a video of a man delivering a bag containing a bloody carcass to a Chinese restaurant in Scotland Neck, NC. Loud conversation can be heard before a store employee hands the man some money.

WRAL's 5 On Your Side contacted the restaurant owner who said the man was believed to be homeless, and they only gave him $5 so he would leave.

The owner said they immediately threw the carcass in the trash.

5 On Your Side also contacted the Halifax County Health Inspector who went to the restaurant immediately following the incident. The inspector found the bag in the dumpster, checked all of the meat in the restaurant and said the case is closed.
